| Nishi-Honganji, from the outside and inside |
Hello everyone!
This is going to be a smaller section than my usual posts, where I just share a picture or two with you all. These were taken at the temple across the street from me, known as Nishi-Honganji (written in Japanese as 西本願寺, which means Western Temple of the Primal Vow). This temple is actually one of a pair; there is also an Eastern version of this same temple, known in Japanese as Higashi-Honganji (東本願寺) only a few blocks away.

hello my name is jason h and that place looks so cool
ReplyDeleteHi Jason,
DeleteIt certainly is! I've been there a few times; it's a really nice place to relax and get away from the noise of the city. They also occasionally have events there!
Hello, my name is Mr. DuPont. My favorite part of sixth grade is meeting my students. One thing I would like to learn about Japan is what kind of food is available?
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. DuPont!
DeleteThat's a great part of going to middle school: meeting all the new people!
There's a lot of interesting food in Japan. Some of the most common are okonomiyaki; a sort of Japanese "pizza" that you cook on a grill in front of you like a giant pancake, yakitori; or the Japanese version of a shish kebab that's popular in all kinds of restaurants, and of course ramen. Japanese restaurant ramen is a lot different from Cup o' Noodles, though, and usually has a variety of vegetables, meats, and sauces that are all very carefully presented in the bowl you receive them in! Funnily enough, there's also a lot of Italian and Indian restaurants here too.
im jason and do people skateboard there
ReplyDeleteHi Jason!
DeleteIn Japan, people that like to skateboard will usually do so in skate parks, not so much on the street or sidewalks. It's not as popular here as it is in America, but there's still plenty of skaters here!
i am daisi do you like the weather
ReplyDeleteHi Daisi!
DeleteI like the weather now that's it's less hot. Fall is an excellent time to be in Kyoto.
hi my name is mariya and are you cool.
ReplyDeleteHi Mariya,
DeleteYeah I'm cool. Are you cool?
Hi, my name is Viktor and I would like to know if Japan is a rich country.
ReplyDeleteHi Viktor,
DeleteJapan generally has a high quality of life for people that live here. It's easy to find a job, and most jobs will pay decently enough to only have to work one. There is a larger middle class here, as opposed to the growing working class in America, but the richest people in Japan are not as rich as the richest people in America.
MY NAME is Damion and I would like to know if Japan is a HUGEEE country.
ReplyDeleteHi Damion,
DeleteJapan isn't HUGEEE exactly, it's just a little larger than California. But the population here is HUGEEE for the size that it is, so a lot of people have to live in apartments and condominiums to save space.
Hi my name is Melodee.B and is it fun in japan? and yea nice to meet u...
ReplyDeleteHi Melodee,
DeleteNice to meet you too! I'm certainly having fun in Japan; the people are really nice and there's so much to see and explore! It's a really exciting place to be.
Im yannis and i want to know if there are many cool places.
ReplyDeleteHi Yannis,
DeleteThere's so many cool places in Japan, I don't think I can see them all in just one year. I bet I could live here 25 years and still be finding new places to see and visit!
